Giving Back to your Community

March 30, 2020

“When you have more than you need, build a longer table, not a higher fence.”

This quote is one of our favorites here at Stew and we truly do our best to live it out whenever we can. We have been so blessed by our community and loyal customers, even during these uncertain times, and we know that we absolutely need to give back when and where we can. Giving back has always been a core tenet that our chef has aspired to live by, and spread throughout her company, and we are so thankful to each of you reading this that you have helped enable Stew to be a vehicle of love and charity.

Don’t let us have all the fun, though! There are so many ways that you, yes you, can give back to those around you too! For example, there are blessing boxes, an ingenious way to give to the needy through food donations, scattered all over the Charleston area. Click this link to find one near you! https://www.facebook.com/chsblessingbox/

There are also amazing food banks such as, Our Lady of Mercy, that are staffed with wonderful, selfless people who live to care for their community. Our Lady of Mercy has a number of different outreach programs which you can learn more about here https://www.olmoutreach.org/. These are just a couple of ways you can show gratitude for the blessings you have in your life. We believe that no matter where we may be in our personal lives, there is always someone who can benefit from our goodwill, and who knows, maybe your selfless deed will start a chain reaction.

During times like these, it may seem scary to give, especially when there are those who only seem to take, but, if you can find it within yourself to give without abandon and expect nothing in return, we truly believe that you that you will be rewarded in one way or another.

If you’re unable to find the time in the hustle of our daily lives, or don’t know how to get started, let Stew help you with the first step! You can now order our new dinner service, which includes an entree, an add-on, and delivery for $45. 10% of the proceeds of this new service will go directly to filling local Blessing Boxes and stocking the shelves at food banks like Our Lady of Mercy! You get to enjoy a delicious meal while also resting in the fact that you are positively impacting your community- that’s a win-win situation! We are excited to be able to take these next steps with you and work together to make our community better for everyone who lives here. Thank you again to all of our loyal customers.

It truly is more blessed to give than to receive!

Wishing you all perfect health,

Stew
